Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Defined Dating, a dating service operated by One Pound Apps Ltd. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Community Guidelines.

1. Adults only

You must be at least 18 years old to create or use a Defined Dating account. You must not allow a person under 18 to use your account. We may use age-assurance measures and may suspend access if we reasonably believe an account is being used by a minor or if required age checks are not completed.

2. Account information

You must provide information that is accurate and not misleading, keep your login details secure, and promptly tell us if you believe your account has been compromised. One person should not maintain multiple accounts for deception, harassment, ban evasion or fraud.

3. Profiles and user content

You remain responsible for content you upload or send. You must have the rights needed to use that content and must not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, abusive, exploitative, pornographic/explicit where prohibited by our rules, or that violates another person’s privacy or rights.

You grant One Pound Apps Ltd a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, display and technically process your content only as needed to operate, secure, moderate and improve Defined Dating and to comply with law. This licence ends when the content is deleted from active systems, subject to lawful retention and backup cycles.

4. Matching, search and interactions

Defined Dating provides tools to help users find and communicate with potential matches. Compatibility indicators, filters and search results are informational and are not guarantees about another person, compatibility, safety, identity or intentions. You are responsible for your own decisions and interactions.

5. Prohibited conduct

You must not use Defined Dating for harassment, threats, stalking, hate, discrimination, exploitation, trafficking, sexual exploitation, child sexual abuse or exploitation, scams, fraud, impersonation, spam, unlawful commercial solicitation, malware, unauthorised scraping, attempts to bypass security or age controls, or any unlawful purpose. Detailed standards are in our Community Guidelines and Child Safety Standards.

6. Safety, reporting and moderation

Users can report or block other users. We may investigate reports and use automated and human processes to detect abuse, fraud or policy violations. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve evidence, or report matters to relevant authorities where reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance or enforcement of these Terms.

7. Subscriptions

Defined Dating may offer Free, Defined Dating One and Defined Dating Plus memberships. Mobile subscriptions are sold through the applicable app store. The store displays the price, billing period and renewal terms before purchase. Subscriptions may renew automatically until cancelled through the store. Deleting your Defined Dating account does not automatically cancel an app-store subscription.

Refunds, billing disputes and store payment methods are governed by the applicable app-store rules and your statutory rights. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Changes to plans and features

We may add, remove or modify features, limits or plans. We will not make changes that unlawfully deprive you of a paid entitlement during a paid period. Material subscription changes will be handled in accordance with applicable law and app-store requirements.

9. Intellectual property

Defined Dating, its software, branding, design and service content (excluding user content) are owned by or licensed to One Pound Apps Ltd and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, reverse engineer, redistribute or commercially exploit the service except where the law expressly permits it.

10. Third-party services

The service may depend on app stores, hosting providers, mapping/location services, age-assurance providers and other third parties. Their own terms and privacy notices may also apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control, but we remain responsible for our own legal obligations in selecting and using processors.

11. Availability and changes

We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may suspend parts of the service for maintenance, security, legal compliance or urgent operational reasons.

12. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or terminate an account where we reasonably believe these Terms, our safety rules or the law have been breached, where necessary to protect users, or where required by authorities. Where appropriate and lawful, we may explain the reason and provide a way to contact support.

13. Account deletion

You may request deletion in the app or through our Delete Account page. Deletion is handled in accordance with our Privacy Notice and does not itself cancel a store subscription.

14. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or rights that cannot be excluded under consumer law. Subject to those protections, Defined Dating is a platform for introductions and communications; we do not guarantee the conduct, identity, compatibility or intentions of other users.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to One Pound Apps Ltd and your mandatory consumer rights. If you are a consumer, you may have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live.
